FOR SALE? Where are all the good Supras?
Has anyone else noticed a trend lately?
Over the past year or two I’ve failed to see many highly desirable Supras for sale on the market.
Desirable to you may be one set of criteria, but for me, it’s low miles, clean, accident free and tastefully modded (if any mods at all).
I check eBay, classifieds sites and forums nearly every day. I’m in the market to buy one more low mile Supra – to put next to the one seen here https://mkiv.com/official-mkiv.com-supra
In the past year, I’ve seen maybe a handful (less than 10) that fit this criteria. Low miles (under 40,000), extremely clean, well maintained, minor (or tasteful) modifications.
What do you think is the cause for this?
Am I not looking in the right places?
Are people with these cars keeping them hoping they will appreciate in value?
Are people keeping these cars and enjoying them and aren’t eager to sell?
Are these owners modding their cars?
OR
Are there just not that many left out there that fit what I am looking for?
A few years ago, it seemed that you could find any Supra you wanted, with a minor search and a few weeks of patience.
Has the supply of clean low mile Supras dried up? Or are the owners just not eager to sell?

This one is easy! 20 year old, many crashed, many have miles, younger crowd now scooping them up doing what they please, body kits, you name it. BUT, there is a flip side. You now have an excuse to buy a cheaper “low-quality” unit, and enjoy doing a resto-mod on one to factory-like new! Then, you can sell it for whatever you like 😉
I looked for about six months before finding the one I bought (94TT, 6sp, 44,000mi). There are many out there that are modded correctly but have too many miles. I found two that had low-ish miles (~65k) that had not been modified much, but they wanted $40k+. I think they’re just becoming too rare. Find the one you want and never let it go!
Yep. Most of the time, you have to be patient. A great car always shows up — eventually 🙂
i bought mine as a lightly modded , 64k original-mile garage queen. It felt like a new car. It still feels nearly new, and I have so much fun with it, I can’t imagine getting rid of it. Most people seem to think that these cars are ‘not worth much’. These people have never driven a supra. There are very few performance options in the same price range as these cars. I won’t be selling mine anytime soon. My supra has proven practical and even economical over time/miles driven.

I recently picked up an 1994 TT with only 10k miles on it and I would consider museum quality , not a spot of rust underneath the car all vintages , would be willing to part with it for what I paid for it to a good home , i don’t want to mod this one because it should be preserved, it is completely stock and has the original tiers and toyota battery that came from the factory.
