Hi all,
I'm still having the problem where my car won't stay ON (idle) unless I
keep my foot on the gas.
The problem began when I started driving my car much less since I bought
my 4Runner.
Then I started experience drainage of the battery so I had to boost the
battery with my truck several times.
One day as the car was warming up after giving it boost, it died. I
turned it ON again and from this time on it would not idle.
Someone said that it could be the "timing sprocket", that I might need
to replace.
I just wanted to run it by you guys before I do anything.
Do you guys think my alternator could have gone bad from all the
draining/boosting??
Is it recommended to upgrade the alternator??? Or just replace it with
an OEM one.
Any help will be appreciated.
Eventually I have to investigate the drainage of battery while the car
is OFF.
But my priority is to get the car running again.... I miss driving it.
TIA,
Marcelo
