Ouch. For three bennies you could have bought all the manuals including the
NCF and the body shop book. That hurts.

Grrrr....

The page that I found that listed the Toyota OBDII codes stated that P1652
was the *IDLE* Air Control Valve Circuit, not the *INTAKE* Air Control
Valve. The VSV for the Intake ACV is much cheaper than the idle air
controller and very easy to change. I'll do the on-car diagnostic today.

If that turns out to be the problem I'm going to be happy the car is fixed
while at the same time pissed for spending $300 for a part I didn't need and
probably won't be able to return. It looks like I'm going to need to invest
in the rest of the factory service manuals (all I have is the engine manual)
because this whole ordeal would have been over in a day or two if I had the
proper information.

Thanks a bunch for the information and I'll keep everyone posted.

Damon

I just uploaded the PDF scan for the Diagnostic trouble shooting guide to
P1652 into my web page It appears that your IACV VSV is bad??
