[mkiv] Drive Pulley woes

Mine started squealing when initially starting the car. I couldn't pinpoint
where it was coming from and it didn't last long enough to really trace the
noise. Then one day the outside ring just fell off on the ground.

Were there any warnings signs before the pulley
broke(ie, unusual noises from the engine bay) or it
came without any warning?
