Yes.  Shake and pull back hard.  It has to come back about a 1/2 inch or less.  It will work its way off.  Make sure it is secure on the tranny jack.

I (finally) got all the bolts out of the bellhousing.  The housing appears to be stuck in the well.  its supported on the tranny jack but it wont come out.  Do i have to pull it back at all before i lower it?
