You can go onto the website for your clutch and they should be able to tell
you the amount of pedal pressure your clutch requires. Like Lance said there
should not be any unbalanced clutches being sold, certainly not as a unit. I
have had clutches balanced before but never in a street car. The
manufacturer's balance should be sufficient for a street car.
I think many Supra owners forget that they are in fact not a "race" car.
Taking them to the drag strip or to a track event does not make them a
"race" car if they are not required to be trailer. I have read about owners
doing things to Supras that I didn't do to true race cars (non street legal
cars built and designed just for racing) which makes me wonder. Also,
remember when you say no one in your area knows enough about Supras that
they are still a Toyota, not a Ferrari. Any good tech should be able to help
you with a clutch problem. It does not have to be someone that works
exclusively on Supras. I think we get carried away with the fact that it is
a "Supra". They have certain things that make them unique as most cars do,
but a clutch is a clutch is a clutch here guys. I have had mine torn apart
from bumper to bumper at one time or another and from underneath they look
like any other front engine, rear wheel drive car I have ever worked on.
Some of us tend to get carried away with ourselves because it is a Supra!
Find a good tech (word of mouth is best - who do your friends take their
cars to) and take the car to him and have him check it out.
I'm done now. Good luck with it.
Harry
